porcupine

| If you have spent time upland game hunting you have probably ran into a porcupine or two porcupines are not aggressive but most dogs are, especially when they are in hunting mode. I always carry pliers with me, the sooner you can get them out the better. This time it was easy nothing in the mouth, I had them out in about 10 minutes, other times we have worked an hour to get them all and sometimes it takes a trip to the vet, to put the dog out, stretch his tongue out and find every last one. Make sure to get them all because the tips are barbed and will never back out, they travel in which can cause serious problems in the future. |

Sharp and Pheasant Hunting in Idaho

| Cowboy and CeCe on a fall night with a beautiful full moon. The bird hunt was slim this year for sharps and pheasants, in my opinion it was due to a dry spring. Dry spring = short grass and decrease in cover. |

| Cowboy and Annie did great on a morning Idaho hunt. Justin, decided he liked pheasant hunting better than football or wrestling (I hope he has many more memorable hunts) |
